Dara Ó Briain: Re:Creation is a stand-up comedy special filmed during his major 2025–2026 tour and released on Amazon Prime Video. It is a direct sequel to his previous special 'So… Where Were We?', which chronicled his search for his birth mother after being adopted in 1970s Ireland. Re:Creation picks up where that story left off, this time focusing on his quest to find his biological father. The first half of the show features Dara's trademark fast-paced observational comedy and crowd work, covering topics such as the travails of parenting teenage children, changing fashions in pubic hair, nostalgia around 'Now That's What I Call Music' compilations, Irish school experiences, and a detailed comedic account of attending an online Speed Awareness Course. The second half is dominated by the deeply personal and emotionally charged narrative of his search for his birth father. Dara builds up an emotional head of steam as he contemplates the courage needed to make contact and considers how family members might react to discovering an unknown relative. The story builds with gripping, gasp-inducing momentum, balancing raw vulnerability with humor. The special culminates in what has been described as a brilliant rug-pull punchline provided by fate — a surprising revelation with deeper and funnier consequences the more it sinks in. Throughout, Dara demonstrates considerable empathy and self-awareness, using callbacks and his masterful storytelling to create intimacy with the audience.
