Full plot (spoilers)

DCI 2026: Big, Loud and Live is a live theatrical broadcast — not a narrative film — of the Drum Corps International World Championship Prelims, held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on August 6, 2026. The approximately five-hour cinema event, distributed by Fathom Entertainment, captures the top 15 World Class drum corps competing in the preliminary round of the DCI World Championships. Throughout the day, more than 30 World, Open, and International Class ensembles perform at Lucas Oil Stadium; the cinema broadcast focuses specifically on the top-15 World Class performers beginning at 6:30 p.m. ET. Each ensemble blends high-precision brass playing, rapid-fire percussion, and elaborate color guard choreography into a scored competitive show. The broadcast is hosted by Steve Rondinaro and includes expert analysis, exclusive behind-the-scenes interviews, and real-time scoring updates, as every hundredth of a point determines which 12 corps advance to the semifinal round. The event marks the 19th year of DCI's cinema broadcast tradition. Because the film releases August 6, 2026 and had not yet screened as of the time of research, no performance-by-performance detail or final competing corps roster is available; coverage is based entirely on official pre-release promotional materials from DCI and Fathom Entertainment.
