Dead Janitors Club is adapted from Jeff Klima's real-life memoir about working as a crime scene cleaner in Los Angeles. The story centers on Dirk (Jake Busey), a crooked cop who runs an illicit crime scene cleanup operation on the side, and his cash-strapped Gen Z partner Jeff Klima (Felix Merback), an eager but broke young man who signs on for the grisly work. Beyond just cleaning scenes, the pair also rob the homes of the recently deceased as an additional profit stream. Things take a violent turn when Jeff lifts a mysterious safe from a particularly bloody crime scene, not realizing it belongs to a ruthless drug cartel. The theft triggers a deadly chain of events as the cartel comes looking for what was taken. Complicating matters further, Jeff has begun a romance with Kerry (Brianna Gage), a sharp-witted tattoo artist who quickly finds herself pulled into the cartel's crosshairs alongside the two men. The film blends dark comedy with crime-thriller stakes as the cleanup duo scramble to survive the fallout of Jeff's impulsive mistake. Gary Busey appears in a cameo as George, a homeless man with a habit of marking his territory. Note: The film releases August 28, 2026; this plot is based entirely on official promotional materials, not the finished film.
