Harry Clark Goes to Rome is a BBC documentary following Harry Clark, the 24-year-old army engineer who won The Traitors (earning him the nickname 'baby-faced assassin' and the title of Britain's most famous liar), on a deeply personal pilgrimage to Rome to explore his Catholic faith. Harry, a lifelong Catholic and former altar boy from Slough, sets out with his mother Georgia to reconnect with his beliefs and answer what it means to be a 'good Catholic' in the modern world. Before departing, he has candid discussions with those closest to him, including an emotional visit with his grandfather who is battling dementia. In Rome, Harry follows in the footsteps of ancient pilgrims, visiting sacred sites, testing his honesty at the legendary Mouth of Truth, undertaking traditional practices like fasting, visiting the tomb of a saint, and making a private confession. His second and more ambitious goal is to meet the Pope. He makes often comical attempts to secure an audience—firing off letters and trying his luck with the Swiss Guard. As the journey reaches its climax, Harry is granted a meeting with a Cardinal from the Pope's inner circle and a member of the conclave, and ultimately secures an unexpected private meeting with Pope Leo XIV himself.
