The film opens with a newly created introduction featuring never-before-seen rehearsal footage drawn from Juan Gabriel's personal archive, providing an intimate behind-the-scenes look at the preparation for this landmark night. The concert itself captures a watershed moment in Mexican cultural history: Juan Gabriel became the first popular music artist ever to perform at the Palacio de Bellas Artes, an institution traditionally reserved for opera, ballet, and classical music. The performance showcases Gabriel at the height of his influence, delivering a 19-song set that includes beloved hits such as 'Yo Te Perdono,' 'Yo No Nací Para Amar,' 'Se Me Olvidó Otra Vez,' 'Amor Eterno,' and 'De Mí Enamórate,' as well as a landmark 25-minute medley built around 'Hasta Que Te Conocí' and a patriotic closing with 'Viva México/Guadalajara.' The theatrical release presents the full concert with newly restored picture and Dolby Atmos audio, revitalizing every standing ovation and iconic moment. The restoration was led by filmmaker María José Cuevas — director of the Netflix docuseries Juan Gabriel: I Must, I Can, I Will — in collaboration with production company MEZCLA and Sony Music Vision. The film was released in Mexico, Spain, and Latin America on August 28, 2026, the 10th anniversary of Juan Gabriel's passing, and came to U.S. theaters on September 15, 2026, coinciding with Mexican Independence Day and Hispanic Heritage Month. A prior public screening at Mexico City's Zócalo drew an audience of approximately 170,000 people.
