Romance at Hope Ranch

Hope Morgan, a recently-empty-nested Denverite whose daughter Maggie has just left for college, fulfills a lifelong dream by purchasing a ranch in Ruidoso, New Mexico — a town filled with cherished childhood memories. She names it Hope Ranch and sets an ambitious goal: revive the beloved annual Giddy Up Gala in one of the property's newly renovated outbuildings just weeks after moving in. Determined to prove her independence, Hope tackles the many problems of getting the ranch operational largely on her own, though she gradually warms to the help — and romantic attention — of her charming neighbor Tom Grayson. Her fresh start is complicated when she discovers that the new owner of the local tack-and-feed store is Jack Bennett, her ex-boyfriend of two failed relationships, the most recent of which ended a decade ago when Jack relocated to New York City. Jack is also the older brother of Hope's best friend Lori, and Hope suspects Lori tipped him off about the move. Jack insists the coincidence is fate; Hope is skeptical. It emerges that Jack bought the store as a deliberate grand gesture to win Hope back, raising the central question of whether Hope can build the life she imagined in Ruidoso — and whether she and Jack can make a third attempt at love work where two previous ones did not.
