The Sun Never Sets

Wendy (Dakota Fanning) is in a happy relationship with Jack (Jake Johnson), an older man who is divorced with children. Jack, however, insists they take a break so Wendy can honestly reckon with whether she's truly at peace giving up on marriage and having children of her own. During this forced time apart, Wendy unexpectedly runs into her ex-boyfriend Chuck (Cory Michael Smith). Chuck rekindles her carefree, spontaneous side and—in a twist of timing—suddenly seems to want the family future that Jack cannot offer. The three are pulled into a volatile, chaotic, and darkly comic romantic triangle set against an Alaskan wilderness backdrop. The film, directed by Joe Swanberg, explores how competing visions of love, domesticity, and personal fulfillment collide when a woman's past and present crash together at the worst possible moment.
