Cody Parsons (Will Poulter) and his younger brother Jack (Noah Centineo) grew up in the foster care system in rural Ohio and have both become addicted to opioids as adults. After being caught, Cody is assigned to a county-mandated drug court program in Bellefontaine, Ohio, as an alternative to incarceration. Jack is also working through the program. With local sober-living facilities at capacity, Cody has no housing and is forced to sleep in his car on the outskirts of town. To anchor himself to a straight path, he takes a job at a lumber mill. The film follows his day-to-day struggle to remain clean while dealing with poverty, homelessness, and the weight of his past.
