Narrative tropes
You Can't Trust Anyone
highDrea, Ali's identical twin and co-host — her most trusted ally — is secretly working against her through a sustained, systematic deception: poisoning Ali's water to induce a miscarriage, murdering a producer who discovered evidence, impersonating Ali to seduce Ryan, and lying to destroy Ali's relationship. The core pattern is fully satisfied: a major betrayal by a trusted character (signal 1), pervasive deception hidden within an ostensibly intimate bond (signal 3 — Ryan must question whether 'Ali' is really Ali), the paranoia is validated when Ryan's cloud-data investigation confirms the scheme (signal 4), and the true enemy was hiding in plain sight with Ali's literal face (signal 5).
About this trope: Trusted allies, institutions, or authority figures are secretly working against the protagonist. Paranoia is justified because betrayal is real and pervasive.

Full plot (spoilers)
Drea and Ali are identical twin sisters (both played by Tami Roman) who co-host a cooking show called 'The Cooking Twins.' When the story begins, Drea is reeling from a miscarriage and the unraveling of her marriage to Kevin, who is revealed to be cheating on her with another pregnant woman. One of the twins kills Kevin in the backyard — an act later revealed to be Ali, who was protecting her sister. Meanwhile, a network executive meets with the twins and expresses interest in elevating their careers, but wants to move forward with Ali alone, a conversation Drea privately overhears and resents. Ali then meets Ryan at a work event and begins a relationship with him. Drea grows obsessed and envious, and begins impersonating Ali to confuse and manipulate Ryan. When Ali becomes pregnant with Ryan's baby, Drea poisons Ali's water bottle with drugs, inducing a miscarriage. A producer on their show discovers evidence of Drea's tampering on footage, so Drea pushes him into traffic to silence him. Drea continues her scheme by drugging Ali again and visiting Ryan's home while posing as her sister, seducing him. Afterward, she tells Ali that Ryan tried to seduce her while she was impersonating Ali, causing Ali to break off the relationship. Ryan, suspicious, works with a friend to expose Drea's deception by accessing her cloud data. The truth is laid bare to both sisters, fracturing their bond. Ryan subsequently proposes to Ali at a lake house, but Drea arrives dressed identically and armed with a knife, demanding Ryan for herself. During the confrontation, Ali refuses to attack Drea despite everything her twin has done. The film's final twist reveals it was Ali who killed Kevin at the start — she had been shielding Drea all along. In the struggle, one sister shoots the other. In an epilogue set three months later, the surviving twin is living with Ryan under the name 'Alli' and has taken the solo cooking deal — the film deliberately leaves ambiguous which twin survived.
