His experiments produce a powerful growth serum, but things go badly wrong when the serum ends up mixed in with a hair-growth potion that the Farmer—hoping to restore his thinning hair—applies to himself. The Farmer goes overboard with the application and undergoes a dramatic transformation, becoming so extraordinarily hairy that he resembles a wild yeti or Bigfoot. The transformed Farmer subsequently goes missing, and rumors of a fearsome wild beast roaming the woodland areas around Mossingham begin to spread, sending the locals into a panic.
