The Vermont State Troopers are back, now contending with a personal crisis that threatens their unit's cohesion. Farva, the group's most volatile and impulsive member, rescues Thorny's sister Sarita from a car accident and she immediately falls for him. The two become engaged, and Farva's plans for an elaborate Indian-themed wedding spiral into ever-escalating chaos. Thorny, horrified by the prospect of Farva as a brother-in-law, secretly schemes to sabotage the relationship and break up the engagement. His maneuvering causes mounting conflict within the trooper squad as loyalties are tested. Simultaneously, the troopers are assigned to investigate a new drug ring operating in the region. A related mystery emerges around a series of vandalized trucks transporting a new brand of Canadian syrup, which turns out to be connected to the drug operation. Among the other troopers: Foster is dealing with a recent breakup and an accompanying existential crisis; Rabbit, feeling his age, attempts to jump a large pit in a vehicle as a youthful thrill-seeking gesture; and the squad takes on a new rookie named Coy Burns, who is subjected to the unit's traditional hazing rituals and prank training. Captain O'Hagan, now retired, makes periodic appearances and claims to have a new girlfriend. The film builds to a more action-oriented finale as the troopers work to both dismantle the drug ring and resolve the romantic chaos around Farva and Sarita's wedding.
